Durham Road - Closure Order Granted |
||
|
Good afternoon,
Units 2, 3 and 4, 2-4 Durham Road Blackpool, have been issued with a Closure Order. Blackpool Police saw the order granted at Preston Magistrate’s Court on January 30th 2026, after the property was involved in multiple reports of serious anti-social behaviour and disorder, including underage drinking, throughout January. The order has been passed under section 80 of the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, and remains in place for three months. The order prevents all persons from remaining, returning and/or entering the property between 22:00 and 07:30. Anyone seen entering the property during these hours without a reasonable excuse can be arrested. If found guilty, they could face imprisonment and/or a fine.
Sergeant Sean Dixon, of Blackpool Police said: “I am pleased we could work closely with partners to act quickly on community concerns regarding this property and seek a Closure Order. The team at Blackpool Police have worked incredibly hard to bring this closure order to fruition in a matter of days. “I hope this positive result showcases to residents that we are dedicated to acting swiftly on reports of anti-social behaviour and criminality, especially those which involve our young people. We will always take action against those premises that are persistently linked to anti-social behaviour and disorder. “Anyone with concerns in their neighbourhood can report these to us online or by calling 101 in non-emergency situations.” Cllr Paula Burdess, Blackpool Council’s lead for community safety, said: “This was a problem property that was causing misery at night-time for local neighbours. “This closure order will be a welcome relief to many ahead of the weekend and is a great example of how the council and police work together to make Blackpool a better and safer place for people to live.” Op Centurion is a county-wide crackdown on anti-social behaviour, led by Lancashire Constabulary and backed by Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw, delivering his priority of getting tough on anti-social behaviour, with the support of our partners. If you witness any anti-social behaviour or incidents, residents are urged to report them promptly. For non-emergency situations please visit LancashireTacklingASB.co.uk to find the most appropriate authority to report your concerns. In an emergency, please call 999.
Stay safe!
